Our Story
Hill Landscaping has been a respected name in Hunterdon County for decades. Founded in 1984 by Eugene Hill, the company quickly grew into a well-known and trusted landscaping and property management business. Over the years, Hill Landscaping had the privilege of working with a wide range of clients, from local organizations and schools to private properties of all sizes. Eugene and his wife Debbie dedicated more than 30 years to building a company defined by quality, consistency, and care.
After their retirement to Florida, Eugene wanted the company’s legacy to continue. He passed the business to former employee Tim Kielblock, who officially took ownership in 2023. Today, Tim honors the Hill family’s commitment to excellence while bringing new energy and vision to the company’s future. With a focus on growth, innovation, and creating a supportive workplace, Hill Landscaping continues to thrive as a trusted partner in the community.

How Tim Got Here
Tim Kielblock did not buy Hill Landscaping as an investor. He started here on a crew in the mid-2000s, hired on through a friend.
He left for a stretch to chase mechanical work, and in 2020 the overtime at that job disappeared. He had a zero-turn mower for his own yard and a house he had inherited that needed keeping up, so he started an LLC and picked up a couple of lawns in the evenings. Two lawns became four, four became ten, ten became sixteen, sixteen became twenty-seven, and the nights and weekends filled up. One of his first hires was the same friend who had gotten him his original job at Hill Landscaping.
In 2022 the owner mentioned he was retiring. Tim took ownership in 2023, and the company kept its name, its crews and its customers.
He does not run it as a boss. His own word for it is leader, and in practice that means being on the job with a shovel when a crew is short and off it when estimates need to go out. It is also how the company keeps people: several of the men he worked alongside on these crews in the 2000s are still on them today.
